The rally
against austerity in Athens turned violent when protesters
gathered in Syntagma square began throwing Molotov cocktails at police.
Thousands of people have gathered outside
parliament in the first strike since coming to power in June the coalition
government of Conservative Prime Minister Antonis Samaras. In the area heard

The protest paralyzed flights for hours and
closed from schools, local authorities and provincial customs offices to
