Habib Latifi was arrested in October of 2007. Mr. Latifi was not allowed visits for 4 months and as a result of severe torture, he was able to move only by crawling on his chest and was hospitalized twice. Mr. Latifi was convicted of risking national security. He was told he would be executed when he refused to report monthly on two other prisoners.
The Iranian government has brutally scheduled the murder of Mr. Latifi for the day after Christmas.
Please contact the United Nations and Amnesty International in one or more ways (phone/fax/e-mail) and ask for their intervention to stop the execution of Habib Latifi.
حبیب الله لطیفی پور یک جوان 29 ساله کرد ؛ دانشجوی مهندسی صنایع و فعال حقوق بشر است که به بهانه های واهی در سال 1386 دستگیر شد و تحت شکنجه های . . وحشیانه قرار گرفت که منجر به دو بار بستری شدن او در بیمارستان های سنندج شد.
بنا به گزارش کمپین دفاع از زندانیان سیاسی و مدنی حبیب لطیفی پور آنقدر شکنجه شده بود که تنها میتوانست روی سینه خود بخزد و تحت این شرایط تا چهار ماه نیز ممنوع الملاقات بود.
سرانجام پس از شکنجه های فراوان و مقاومت حبیب لطیفی پور ؛ اعتراض او به اعدام احسان فتاحیان و عدم قبول جاسوسی بر علیه هم بندان خود حکم اعدام او قطعی شد و حتی مورد تجدید نظر نیز قرار نگرفت. امروز به وکیل او آقای نیکبخت اعلام شد که حکم اعدام او روز یکشنبه 26 در زندان سنندج اجرا خواهد شد.
ما از همه ایرانیان آزاده میخواهیم که هر چه سریعتر از طریق تلفن و یا ایی میل و یا فکس با عفو بین الملل و دفتر سازمان ملل متحد تماس گرفته و خواهان اقدام فوری شورای حقوق بشر سازمان ملل و شخص آقای بان کی مون و خانم ناوی پیلای جلوگیری از اجرای حکم اعدام حبیب لطیفی شوند.

I am writing to respectfully ask for your immediate intervention to prevent the execution of Habibullah Latifipour, a 29-year old Kurdish student and activist. The execution of Mr. Latifipour has been scheduled for Sunday, December 26th in Sanandaj prison.

Please break your silence regarding the ongoing executions in Iran. Mr. Latifi is a student and his punishment is only meant to scare the Iranian people in the aftermath of the economic and political crises.
The Iranian government has no respect for the Universal declaration of the human rights and no regards for the human life. There are no means inside Iran to protest against this brutal punishment. Our only means is to ask for your Excellency's immediate intervention. Please contact the Iranian officials and ask them to immediately stop the execution of Mr. Latifi and allow him a fair and open trial with the presence of a UN representative.
Your immediate action can save a life. Please do not refuse to help .
