تظاهرات دروال استریت در یک سالگی جنبش “اشغال وال استریت”

یکسال پس از آغاز جنبش “اشغال وال استریت” معترضان به نظام سرمایه داری در خیابان وال استریت، مرکز مالی آمریکا دست به تظاهرات زدند.

اما پلیس نیویورک با سد کردن محل و دستگیری تعدادی از آنها، مانع از دسترسی این فعالان به بازار بورس وال استریت مهمترین منطقه مالی تجاری شهر نیویورک شد. آنها گفته بودند در سالگرد جنبش، در صدد برپایی تحصن یکروزه در این محل هستند.

جنبش اشغال وال استریت جنبشی خود جوش در اعتراض به نظم سرمایه جهانی در نیویورک آغاز شد اما دامنه آن به سرعت در بسیاری از شهرهای دنیا از جمله لندن گسترده شد.

تحلیلگران می گویند یکی از دستاوردهای این جنبش آرمانی جلب افکار عمومی به نابرابری های اجتماعی در دنیای سرمایه داری بود.

At least 70 arrested in Occupy protests in NYC: legal aid

Attorney Gideon Orion Oliver tweeted that at least 70 protesters had been arrested during Monday morning's demonstrations, a number that came from his office's arrest and legal support hotline, he later told us.

The New York Times estimates that about 200 people gathered at Zuccotti Park, home base of Occupy operations, Monday morning. They’ve now gathered at the intersection of Water and Wall Street to protest, but just before 10am one protester told the Times that William Street and Wall Street were a “target” for demonstrators.

On the weekend of the anniversary of Occupy Wall Street, a few hundred protesters marched from Washington Square Park to Liberty Plaza, the birthplace of the movement. For seemingly no reason, about 20 people were arrested on the sidewalks during the peaceful legal march.
